Cage warriors 84 Preview, betting tips and Odds

Cage Warriors is back with another action-packed card Friday night. “We’re all excited to be returning to our new London home at Indigo at The O2,” says Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan.

Betsafe is the official betting partner of the Irish-owned promotion that has produced such well-known names as Michael Bisping, Dan Hardy, and Conor McGregor.

The Cage Warriors 84 card is headlined by a vacant bantamweight title bout between local fighter Nathaniel Wood (10-3) who will take on Switzerland’s Marko Kovacevic (9-1).

Undefeated Betsafe Ambassador Kenneth Bergh (5-0) will be featured in the co-main event as he takes on a former Cage Warriors title challenger in France’s Norman Paraisy.

Let’s take a closer look at the packed card.

Cage Warriors 84 Prelims

Darren O’Gorman (4-2) v Bryan Creighton (5-4)

Creighton will look to rebound from three straight losses, as the bantamweight hasn’t had his hand raised since Cage Warriors 60 back in 2013. O’Gorman will also look to rebound from a loss back at Cage Warriors 81, as the Irishman will be hunting for a submissions against the UK fighter.

Thomas Robertsen (5-1) v Phil Wells (8-4)

Robertsen was riding the high of an undefeated record with all stoppages until he ran into the scrappy Craig White in February at Cage Warriors 80, suffering his first loss. Wells, fighting out of Swindon, has experience on his side with over five years of pro bouts. Both fighters will looking to show they are still contenders in the welterweight division.

Sean Carter (12-4) v Steve O’Keeffe (6-3)

“Sexy Curls” was a hot prospect when he launched his pro career back in 2012, winning seven straight. After losing a bout to get into The Ultimate Fighter, Carter has finally got on the winning track and now rides two wins into the fight. O’Keeffe found out in 2012 the power of future star Conor McGregor as he lost by elbow strikes. Expect a competitive and enteraining scrap between these two vets.

Iurie Bejenari (6-1) v Sam Creasey (7-1)

Creasey will look to rebound from his first pro loss as he steps back into the cage. Bejenari has been traveling around Europe betting local fighters and he hopes to do the same on Friday.

James Webb (1-0) v Miro Jurković (3-0)

Webb brings an exciting style to the cage with a background with in BJJ and Muay Thai. The Essex fighter will battle undefeated Serbian Jurković who has three straight wins.

Håkon Foss (8-3) v Craig White (11-7)

Foss comes out of Norway’s Frontline Academy and has won his last six of seven bouts, including four straight. The “Ferocious” will have to be careful as he faces veteran White that is coming off an upset win over another Norwegian in Robertsen. Foss is an odds favorite to get his fifth win in a row.

Cage Warriors 84 Main Card

Alexander Jacobsen (7-1) v Tom Green (11-1)

There is never a dull “Bad Romance” fight, and don’t expect one here against Green. The Norwegian has seven straight stoppages, including his last dynamite right hand KO over Tim Wilde at Cage Warriors 80. The West Sussex fighter has 10 straight victories with all finishes. Both fighters think they are UFC bound, but there will be only one brawler that will take a step forward Friday night. Get ready for this one that is a pick em’ on Betsafe!

Matt Inman (19-9) v Brad Wheeler (16-10)

One of UK’s best, Inman will look to rebound from a title loss stoppage back in February. The SBG fighter will enter the same cage in London, where he was stopped in just three minutes to the welterweight champion Karl Amoussou. Wheeler out of the MMA Clinic is long time veteran of Cage Warriors, going back to his CWFC debut back in 2011. Riding a win in the co-main event at Cage Warriors 80, Wheeler is still a big betting underdog.

Kenneth Bergh (5-0) v Norman Paraisy (16-8-2-1 nc)

Bergh has all the buzz and a perfect record to go with it, as the Norwegian light heavyweight will face his toughest test against former Cage Warriors title challenger Paraisy. The Frontline Academy fighter has stopped all five opponents in his carer, while Paraisy is looking to re-invent himself as he moves up to the light heavyweight division. Both fighters lost in exhibition bouts to get onto UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter reality show, but Friday night will go on their official record and show if the Bergh hype is for real, or Paraisy still has more left in his long career.

Marko Kovacevic (9-1) v Nathaniel Wood (10-3)

The vacant bantamweight belt is on the line in the headliner. Wood has shown that his future is bright, winning over UFC veteran Vaughan Lee in the co-main at Cage Warriors 82 in April. “The Prospect” has won his last four of five bouts. Kovacevic has faced less competitive competition, but has eight straight wins. The Swiss fighter won by TKO in the first round in March over Brazilian Carlos Eduardo de Azevedo in his home country. I like the Englishman to get the title here and live up to his nickname in the main event.
