Turkish Grand Prix – Formula 1
Formula One action comes from the Turkish Grand Prix, a track that made its comeback last season. Once again the spotlight will be on Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, with the former leading the championship by just two points and neither driver willing to give an inch in the battle between them.
The likeliness is one will triumph, but if they clash again that will open the doorway for someone else to pounce, just as McLaren did at Monza.
Will Max Verstappen fastest in F1 practice in Turkey
Following on from an entertaining Russian Grand Prix, the next stop on the list is Turkey where many will be hoping for another battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Last year was a wet race that saw Hamilton guide his car to first place ahead of Sergio Perez and Sebastien Vettel, but this year sees the championship battle much tighter. Hamilton also holds the record for the largest winning margin in Turkey at 31.6 seconds, recorded last year.
Whilst qualification is important, at this circuit it doesn’t guarantee success with the top three qualifiers only finishing on the podium altogether once in the history of this race. Hamilton has himself yet to ever claim a pole position at this track, but he has won the race on two occasions but it’s worth considering that Mercedes are contemplating taking an engine penalty here, which would consign him to the back of the track.
Therefore, meaning Verstappen will be an even bigger favourite to win with the biggest challenge possibly coming from Ferrari who will be looking to usurp McLaren in third place in the championship standings.
Max Verstappen is favourite to win this race at a price of 1.9, with Lewis Hamilton next at 2.30
