Daniel Dubois vs Anthony Joshua Preview
Much is on the line in this sell out Wembley fight between these two British fighters on Saturday evening. For a start, this is a title fight as Daniel Dubois will be defending his IBF Heavyweight belt.
The belt was awarded to Dubois after it was vacated by Oleksandr Usyk, who was unable to defend it. At the time Usyk called it his ‘present’ to Dubois and Joshua. The winner of this fight will surely go on to even greater things as they stand the chance of setting up a fight either against Usyk or perhaps even against Tyson Fury.

Three Time Heavyweight World Champion?
Anthony Joshua goes into this fight knowing that a victory will make him a three time heavyweight world champion and will mean he is more than likely to fight either Usyk or Fury next up, following their title rematch fight that is set to take place on December 21st. That being said, the prospect of what might come next must be put to the back of his mind as he will need to be 100% focused on this battle against Dubois. The talk of the long awaited clash between Joshua and Dubois is certainly back on the table, with the much anticipated fight looking perhaps more likely than it has been in the past. Both these two fighters have already been beaten by Usyk and it was Dubois that was the tougher opponent with many viewing him as unlucky with refereeing decisions taken in that match. Joshua didn’t fare so well against him, beaten twice both times by comfortable points decisions.
Predictions
Joshua is without a doubt the more experienced of the two fighters at the age of 34 and he has more experience of the big occasion. He has fought in front of a full house at Wembley before and is used to the 96,000 strong crowd in the country’s premier stadium. Anthony Joshua has won all four of his fights at Wembley Stadium, including when he beat Vladmir Klitschko to become unified champion back in 2017. Joshua’s recent fights have been relatively easy wins over Francis Ngannou in March and Otto Wallin in December.
Daniel Dubois has three wins in his last four fights with the exception being the loss against Usyk. His last two were wins against Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic. He will know that he is a step up in class than what Joshua has recently faced and will be confident of hurting his opponent but equally, it remains to be seen how he handles the biggest of occasions and fighting against the man who has been at the top of British boxing for over a decade.
The two fighters faced off on the banks of London’s river Thames on Monday and Dubois was in a bullish mood stating that not only does he want to beat Joshua, he wants to force him to quit boxing altogether. He believes that Joshua’s team are underestimating him and said that he believes that he will be in for the ‘shock of his life’.
Anthony Joshua goes into this fight as a strong favourite, with him priced at 1.24 to win the fight overall. Daniel Dubois is only given roughly a price hovering around 4.55. The chances of the fight going the full distance are not great with a price of 4.20 currently available for this market.
