Sky Bet Handicap

A relatively small field of 9 take their chance here with Zabeel Champion your short price favourite and worthy one. Sneaking in at the bottom of the handicap he is one of only a couple who is still on the upgrade.

Alfaatik is very interesting making his first start for 455 days but there will be question marks over whether he will be fit enough.

Of the others Restorer was a fine 2nd at Chester 11 days ago but has failed to fire on his previous 2 runs at York.

Selection: Norban Each Way

Lonsdale Cup Stakes (Group 2)

No Stradivarius in the lineup this year which at least makes the race more competitive!

Enbihaar steps up to 2 miles for the first time but judged on her Lillie Langtry success the extra 2 furlongs shouldn’t be an issue. Nayeef road rarely runs a bad race and having finished 1 place behind Stradivarius on his last 2 runs, it would be no surprise to see him win this.

At a bigger price Stratum is of great interest. He has failed to fire in his 2 hurdle runs in 2020 but last years Cesarewitch win puts him right in the mix.

Selection: Nayef Road

Gimcrack Stakes (Group 2)

Mohawk King is one of the least experienced in the lineup but one what usually tturns out to be an above average maiden at Ascot and that should be enough to figure here.

Minzaal finished behind Mohawk King that day and subsequently bolted up on his next start which makes for a very interesting rematch.

Selection: Mohawk King

Nunthorpe Stakes (Group 1)

This looks to be between the Sprint King Battaash and the new kid on the block Art Power.

Nothing has been able to get close to Battaash this year but Art Power is fast improving and is yet to taste defeat on turf, the 3lb pull in the weights could be good enough.

The other of interest in A’Ali who is a multiple Group 2 winner and has a great record at this distance.

Selection: Art Power

British Stallion Studs EBF Convivial Maiden Stakes

Naval Crown brings the best form having placed in Listed company last time out but there could easily be an improver in this race who can topple the fav.

The most likely of those is Dingle who could only manage 6th on his only run. He got tired late on their and should be a lot sharper and fitter for that.

Selection: Dingle
