Football Tips & Predictions 14/3 – 16/3

On Saturday your attention should all be spared for the Rivierderby between Dortmund (1.41) and Schalke 04 (7.45), in a match that historically guarantees goals and drama. Sunday you should divert your betting skills to Manchester United’s (2.27) visit to London as they take on their former manager Jose Mourinho who is now in charge of Tottenham (3.60). Moving on to Monday night you can put all your weekend winnings on the feisty Merseyside Derby between Everton (4.55) and Liverpool (1.80), as Klopp and his men look to get one win closer to that much elusive title.

14.03.20 – Dortmund vs Schalke 04 – Bundesliga

Market: Result + Both teams to score // Home Wins + Yes (2.55)

The Rivierderby is one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season, especially at the Signal Iduna Park. This year though this clash will lose much of its flavor having to be played behind closed doors due to measures taken because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Still, despite the absence of their ‘yellow wall’ Dortmund have enough talent on the pitch to dismantle Schalke who are on a poor run of form, with goals on both ends always a guarantee when the black and yellows play.

Market: Anytime Goalscorer // Erling Braut Haaland (1.65)

The Norwegian teenage sensation has now gone 3 games without scoring a goal, a draught by the incredible standards he set himself this season. After his goal celebration being ridiculed by PSG players in midweek, he will be fired up and determined to make amends in the derby. The safest bet you can place this weekend.

Market: Anytime Goalscorer // Jadon Sancho (2.10)

Jadon Sancho has been directly involved in 36 goals in 35 appearances this season (17 goals / 19 assists). An incredible statistic for a player who will only turn 20 on the 25th of March. He is almost just as likely to score in the derby as Haaland, having a much better price. A bet worth considering.

15.03.20 – Tottenham vs Manchester United – EPL

Market: Match Result // Manchester United (2.27)

Manchester United are on a very good run at the moment, having beaten the likes of Chelsea and Man City along the way. Given the current state of Tottenham’s never-ending list of injuries that saw them drop down the table and get eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, it is easy to see why United is where you should put your money on in this one.

Market: Anytime Goalscorer // Anthony Martial (2.51)

The French forward has been in scintillating form of late, with new signing of Bruno Fernandes providing the much-needed creativity behind the forward line. Their understanding on and off the pitch was instant as they speak the same football language. A bonus for Solskjaer. Given Spurs’ defensive state this season, I would not bet against him.

Market: Anytime Goalscorer // Bruno Fernandes (3.50)

The Portuguese midfield maestro has been a revelation since joining in January, scoring 2 and assisting another 3 in 5 appearances so far for the Red Devils. He has taken to the EPL like a duck to water and given he is now Manchester United’s designated set-piece and penalty taker coupled with his shooting capabilities, one could see his price as something of a bargain. A gamble definitely worth taking.

16.03.20 – Everton vs Liverpool – EPL

Market: Match result // Draw (4.00)

Liverpool’s midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid will impact Klopp’s men physically and mentally. They played at a very high tempo for 120 minutes creating a myriad of goal scoring opportunities and somehow still lost the match. It will be very hard for them to get themselves back up for this match, especially now that it is going to be played behind closed doors. Everton, on the other hand, had more than a week to prepare for it and will be adamant not to get beaten in the derby. Given the odds, the draw is your best bet here.

Market: Anytime Goalscorer // Sadio Mane (2.62)

The Senegalese forward failed to score in midweek but was one of the most dangerous men on the pitch as in most games. Given he plays on Liverpool’s left-hand side he will be instructed to exploit Djibril Sidibe’s tactical deficiencies, a tactic that worked wonders for Chelsea last weekend. He has guaranteed a good return in most games this season and once again is at a price worth putting your money on.

Market: Anytime Goalscorer // D. Calvert-Lewin (3.05)

With 13 goals to his name, he is having the best season of his young career so far with the arrival of Ancelotti giving the much-needed confidence he craved. He is now the first name on the team sheet for the Italian, striking a fantastic partnership with Richarlison in Everton’s 4-4-2 system. An Evertonian through and through scoring in this match will mean more to him than others. Predestined.
