Manchester City Brings Football to Fortnite

The opportunities of the gaming industry have caught the attention of Premier League football club Manchester City which will once again collaborate with FaZe Clan to host a Fortnite tournament.

FaZe Clan Joins Forces With Man City

FaZe Clan, a popular American esports organization, plans to feature their Fortnite roster while Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne will be making an appearance at the co-organized event. The Fortnite tournament will promote the release of Fortnite’s ‘Kickoff Set’ Cosmetic bundle which contains the kits of more than 20 football clubs including Manchester City.

Nuria Tarre, Chief Marketing Officer at City Football Group, in an interview with esports insider said: “The FaZe City cup featuring Fortnite is an exciting first for the club in one of the most popular gaming titles globally and we hope fans worldwide will get involved in the competition and wear their Manchester City outfits in-game with pride.”

Nuria further explained that their partnership with FaZe Clan has given opportunities for the Club to engage and have an online presence with their fans.

With the onset of COVID-19, the Gaming industry saw an increase in users, and esports betting has become an even greater source of social interaction. Companies and Football clubs alike have taken to gaming platforms to virtually market their products and interact with current and potential clientele and their fan base.
